Literature doesn’t have to be serious or good.
Robin Ince’s Bad Book Club is a compilation and celebration of the world’s worst, and inadvertently hilarious, books, all of which were purchased in second-hand shops for less than three pounds or were donated by a fellow enthusiast.
His treasure trove of underappreciated classics includes such titles as Crabs on the Rampage and The Secrets of Picking up Sexy Girls.
Robin Ince was the Chortle Award Winner in 2009 and won the Time Out Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy for his show
The Book Club, which was also nominated for a British Comedy Award and hailed by The Observer as ‘the outstanding literary event of the Edinburgh Festival’.
This hilarious expose of the underbelly of the literary scene is brought to you by the Manchester Comedy and Literature Festivals.
